Outdoor/Indoor Fun Will Abound at Arlington Mid-Winter Festival

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Horse-drawn sleigh rides, sledding, skating, cross-country ski lessons, s'mores, magic, arts and crafts, and Irish step dancing on the Vassar College campus will highlight the first Arlington Mid-Winter Festival, free and open to the public on Saturday, February 12 from 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Wapiti Holler Farm will provide horse-drawn sleigh rides on the Vassar golf course, and free cross-country ski lessons (gear provided) will also be available at the course from the college Outing Club. Sunset Hill will be open for sledding and the scenic campus pond for skating (bring your own gear), and Walker Field House will host dozens of food and craft vendors, rides, games and a non-stop entertainment stage.

Free on-campus parking will be available, and a shuttle bus loop will run continuously among the parking areas, outdoor activities, and Walker Field House. The recommended route to the Mid-Winter Festival is via Vassar's Manchester Gate, accessible from Route 55 eastbound or westbound at the intersection of Manchester Road. Directions to Vassar are available through the college website at http://www.vassar.edu/directions.

The Arlington Mid-Winter Festival is co-sponsored by the Arlington Business Improvement District, Vassar Student Association, and Vassar College. For more information, contact Andrew Meade at (845) 437-5831.
